About the Stable Living Program

Our Approach
Our mission is to empower individuals with developmental disabilities to become safely and successfully independent.
We first get to know participants by exposing them to a variety of opportunities that require different abilities. We learn about their preferences and dislikes as well as their dreams and aspirations.
We work with each individual to maximize the abilities that God has given them to be the best they can be.
Our goal is to assist them in becoming safely and successfully independent. We try to help them become simply independent so other people can’t take advantage of them and they can stand up for themselves.

We help participants learn what they’re really good at so that they can develop life skills that will help them throughout their lives.
Some of the opportunities we offer to program participants…
Your purchase of Stable Living products directly benefits the program participants who craft them.
Both of our locations are well-stocked with supplies and tools for making products to sell, as well as a full greenhouse in our Turlock location and large wood and metal shop in Newman. We also offer a craft room, kitchen, and iPads for participants to use.
As a program, we participate in several ongoing community service projects to help participants learn job and interpersonal skills, as well as giving them a sense of community involvement.
Field trips are another way we learn and expand horizons, and our quarterly luncheons expose participants to new locations and foods, as well as providing an opportunity to reinforce good manners when in public. Most importantly, we enjoy ourselves as we learn to do our best in all areas of life.
